Terms of Service

Buzz for Business · Version 2026-09-29 · Last updated 29 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you create a Buzz account or use Buzz on the web or in the Buzz apps. Buzz is operated by Occam Technologies (Singapore) ("Buzz", "we", "us"). If you use Buzz for a business, you agree to these terms for that business and confirm you are allowed to do so. If you do not agree, please do not use Buzz.

2. What Buzz provides

Buzz provides two things:

  • Software for running a business: taking payments and sales, products and stock, orders, staff schedules and attendance, pay records, chat, and reports.
  • A marketplace that connects businesses with event organisers, suppliers, customers and people who want to pick up shifts or event dates.

When a customer buys from a business through Buzz, the sale is between the customer and that business. Buzz provides the tools for the sale but is not the seller.

3. Accounts and roles

  • Each business has an owner. The owner, and the admins and managers the owner allows, invite people and choose what each person can see and do. The business is responsible for everyone it invites and for the roles it gives them.
  • Give accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date. Keep your password and devices secure, and tell us straight away at support@getbuzzin.app if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Vendor and event organiser accounts created through self-signup are reviewed before they get full access. This includes Stripe's checks and Buzz's own review. We may decline or limit an account that does not pass them.

4. Payments

  • Card and other online payments on Buzz are processed by Stripe. A business that takes payments through Buzz needs a Stripe account and must also accept Stripe's terms. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never stored by Buzz.
  • Paying on Buzz. Invoices between businesses and booth fees that are raised on Buzz must be paid through Buzz. Please do not arrange to pay them some other way.
  • Buzz fees. Buzz sets its own fees. They can differ by payment method and type of account, and they may change over time. The fee that applies is shown before you pay, or in your plan or pricing details, and a change never applies to a payment that has already been made.
  • Card surcharges. For some payments, paying by card adds a surcharge to the amount the payer pays. When it does, the surcharge is shown before the payer confirms, and the payer can choose another method where one is offered.
  • Plans. If your business is on a paid Buzz plan, the price and billing period are shown before you subscribe.

5. Refunds

Each business decides its own refund policy for its customers and is responsible for the refunds it gives. When a payment is refunded, Buzz keeps its fee. The one exception is when Buzz itself returns a payment that could not be completed, for example a booth payment that arrived after the booth hold had ended. In that case the full amount, including Buzz's fee, goes back to the payer. Stripe's own processing fees are set by Stripe and may not be returned on a refund.

6. Event organisers and vendors

  • Event organisers use Buzz to list events and booths, review applications and collect booth fees. Vendors use Buzz to apply for booths and pay for them.
  • The booth agreement is between the organiser and the vendor. Buzz is not a party to it. The organiser sets the booth terms, fees, rules and cancellation policy, and the organiser and the vendor are each responsible for keeping their side of it.
  • Buzz does not run the events and does not promise that an event will go ahead, how many people will attend, or how much a vendor will sell. Disputes about an event or a booth are between the organiser and the vendor, though we may help where we can.

7. People who pick shifts or dates through Buzz

Some businesses use Buzz to invite people to pick up shifts, work dates or event dates. When they do:

  • The person is engaged directly by that business. Any work arrangement is between the business and the person.
  • Buzz is a software and matching platform. It helps businesses and people find each other and organise the work. Buzz is not the employer of the person, and it is not an agent of the person or of the business.
  • The business and the person, not Buzz, decide what kind of working relationship they have, for example whether the person is an employee or self-employed. They are responsible for any CPF contributions, tax, insurance and other legal obligations that come with that relationship.
  • If a business uses Buzz to record hours or to pay the person, Buzz does this only as a tool acting on the business's instructions. That does not make Buzz a party to the work arrangement.

8. Acceptable use

When you use Buzz, please do not:

  • break the law, or use Buzz to sell anything you are not allowed to sell;
  • mislead or defraud customers, organisers, vendors, suppliers or workers;
  • use someone else's account, or share yours with people who should not have it;
  • upload anything harmful, abusive, or that you do not have the right to share;
  • try to get around Buzz's fees, security, rate limits or access controls;
  • copy, scrape or reverse engineer Buzz, or overload it on purpose.

9. Your data

The records a business keeps in Buzz, such as its products, sales, schedules and customer details, belong to that business. You allow Buzz to store and process them so we can run the service for you. You are responsible for having the right to put other people's personal data into Buzz, for example your staff's and customers' details. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Availability and changes

  • We work to keep Buzz running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. It may be paused for maintenance or affected by problems with our providers or your internet connection.
  • We keep improving Buzz, so features may be added, changed or removed.
  • We may update these terms. The version and date at the top of this page show which text applies. For changes that matter, we will tell account owners before they take effect. If you keep using Buzz after that, the new terms apply.

11. Limits on our liability

  • Buzz is provided as it is and as available. You are responsible for checking that it suits your business, including your prices, tax settings, pay and records.
  • Buzz is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost data, or for what organisers, vendors, suppliers, customers or workers do.
  • If Buzz is responsible for a loss, our total liability to your business is limited to the fees your business paid to Buzz in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

12. Suspension and ending your account

  • You can stop using Buzz at any time, and an account owner can ask us to close the business account.
  • We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, puts other people or payments at risk, does not pay what it owes, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you first and explain why.
  • When an account closes, fees already owed stay payable, and we keep records for as long as the law requires, as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If a dispute cannot be resolved by talking to us first, the courts of Singapore will decide it.
